Roy Hodgson sets his stance on Wilfried Zaha's future with Crystal Palace contract expiring

Roy Hodgson hopes Wilfried Zaha extends his stay with Crystal Palace beyond this season.

The winger's contract expires at the end of the 2022/23 campaign and is yet to put pen to paper on a new deal. Having spent the majority of his career at Selhurst Park, outside of a brief stint with Manchester United and loan spell at Cardiff City, Zaha has amassed over 450 appearances in all competitions for the Eagles.

Now 30, Zaha could choose to once again test himself at a club competing in European competition, ten years after his time at Old Trafford.

“With my interest in the club and my admiration for Wilf [Zaha], I would like him to stay," Hodgson said on Thursday afternoon. “I would hope, from the club’s point of view, that he accepts the offer on the table and decides his future lies here.“

Interest in Zaha has always been high, with a number of London clubs including Arsenal and Chelsea linked to the forward over the years. More recently, Tottenham Hotspur have also been touted as a potential destination should they rehire Mauricio Pochettino following the sacking of Antonio Conte.
