A young boy needed hospital treatment after he was injured in an XL bully dog attack.
Police were called after the three-year-old boy suffered injuries to his head caused by the family pet in Rotherham.
It is the latest in a long series of dog attacks and there were 21,918 recorded dog attacks in 2022 compared with 16,294 in 2018.
The incident happened on the Spalton Road area of Parkgate just after 2pm on Monday.
He was taken to hospital to be treated for his injuries, a spokesperson said.
The animal has been seized, South Yorkshire Police confirmed.
They said a 42-year-old woman has been bailed after being arrested on suspicion of allowing a dog to be dangerously out of control.
A police investigation has now been launched into the incident.
