The Perth Silent Auction has delivered a very Merry Christmas for local charities.
The annual fundraiser promoted by The Rotary Club of Perth in partnership with the team at the Perthshire Advertiser and supported by The Cameron Group has generated an amazing £27,500.
The main beneficiaries this year are Andy’s Man Club and, as ever, the Cornhill Palliative Care Unit at Perth Royal Infirmary.
Lots generously gifted by businesses across Perth and Kinross and far beyond went under the hammer one by one online and Rotarians were thrilled as the bids kept flooding in and the headline figure nudged higher and higher.
Perth Rotarian and auction co-ordinator David Lindsay hailed the generosity of businesses and bidders who added to the £400,000-plus tally generated in the previous 14 years of the annual auction.
“It’s another fantastic effort by everyone involved,” said David.
“The team at the PA was incredibly supportive and the business community never lets us down. Without their generosity, the Silent Auction would be a non-starter.
“Once again, their support was marvellous and, as ever, big-hearted bidders bombarded the website to ensure another success story.”
