Rotary Club of Perth St Johns hosts farewell dinner for members after 47 years of service

Present and past members of Rotary Club of Perth St Johns have met for a farewell dinner.

The club has acknowledged that falling numbers mean it is no longer able to continue.

The club was established in 1976 and has given almost 47 years of service to both the local community and many international projects.

Over the years, members have supported numerous local organisations, not only raising money for these charities, but giving of their time to help with particular projects or organising days out for local groups.

Current president Gail Mackay said: “ Looking back over those years it is absolutely amazing just how many organisations have been supported and how much money the club has raised. It is certainly something the club should be very proud of.”

The event, which was held at the Royal George Hotel in Perth, was an opportunity not only to celebrate all the club’s achievements, but also allowed the many members to have the opportunity to catch up with old friends.

The club officially closes at the end of June.
