Ross Wilson Rangers exit 'best for all parties', says Kris Boyd

Ross Wilson's Rangers departure could be the best outcome "for all parties".

That's according to former Ibrox striker Kris Boyd.

The club's transfers chief is reportedly a target for Premier League side Nottingham Forest.

It's said that they are looking to appoint the Scot to a 'senior football role', which could see him leave Rangers.

Wilson has come in for some hefty criticism from a large portion of the Light Blues support in recent months, alongside managing director Stewart Robertson.

A banner was unveiled against Motherwell last month from away fans with the caption: "Time for Change".

The 39-year-old previously worked at Watford, Huddersfield Town, and Southampton before joining proceedings in Glasgow.

But Boyd agrees with supporters that the club's recruitment policy hasn't been up to scratch.

He told Sky Sports: "When that is your role at the club you're always going to be judged on it. There's been a lot of criticism flying about I've had my say on it numerous times as well.

"There's no doubt the recruitment at Rangers over the last few years hasn't been good enough. There's no getting away from it and I think the fans have had enough. You've seen them turn on Stewart Robertson and Ross Wilson.

"You don't like to see it but they are the ones that are paid the money and the fans are turning up and they want better.

"If the opportunity comes around for him to go to a massive club in Nottingham Forest then you would feel it would be too good for him to turn down.

"There has been a lot of good things happened. It's not all been negative. But once the fans start to voice their opinion at the level they have recently, it's only going to end one way and it could be best for all parties."
