Sunderland forward Ross Stewart made his second appearance for Scotland as the Tartan Army were beaten 3-0 by the Republic of Ireland on Saturday evening. Goals from Alan Browne, Troy Parrott and Michael Obefami sunk Steve Clarke's side to a more than disappointing defeat.
Stewart, who made his international debut in Scotland's 2-0 win over Armenia in midweek, was introduced after 59 minutes with the score already at 3-0 to the hosts. Replacing Southampton forward Che Adams, Stewart struggled to find any rhythm as Ireland recorded their first ever Nations League win.
With just one fixture left before the end of the recent international break, Clarke's side face Armenia in Yerevan on Tuesday evening, hoping to climb back into the top two places of Group E.

Suffering a mixed back of emotions as of late, Stewart played in front of a rapturous Hampden Park faithful for the first time just days ago. Now bidding to secure some more international minutes under his belt, the former Ross County man played credit to the reception he received earlier this week.
“It certainly whets the appetite” Stewart began following the sides 2-0 victory just days ago. "They’ve come out and supported us in their numbers again and the boys are very thankful for that. I’ve got no doubt that we’ll see them in Ireland and we’ll probably see them over in Armenia as well. They’ve got a big part in it as well so it’s great to send them home with a victory.”
Whilst it wasn't to be in Dublin, the 25-year-old will hope to quickly turn things around heading into next week, as Scotland go in search of another victory following a tough spell that also saw there hopes of a World Cup appearance dashed, following defeat against Ukraine.
