Aberdeen star Ross McCrorie will sign a new contract on Tuesday as Jim Goodwin makes his first move as Aberdeen boss.
The highly-rated 23-year-old will now be tied down at Pittodrie until 2026, with his original deal due to run out in two years’ time.
Goodwin is a big fan of the player, who he has moved into his new-look midfield.
The Irishman’s successor Stephen Glass had favoured playing McCrorie in defence but Goodwin has already stamped his mark on the Dons, pushing the former Rangers star further up the park.
McCrorie shone for his new manager in the engine room in the 1-1 draw with Motherwell, which marked Goodwin’s first game as Dons boss.
The former St Mirren gaffer has also been boosted by Scott Brown staying on in the North-East, with the former Celtic skipper appearing destined for the top job in Paisley.
Brown missed the Motherwell league game at the weekend due to a hamstring injury but hopes are high he won’t be on the touchline for too long.
