Ross McCrorie gets Love Island transfer treatment as ex-Rangers ace joins Bristol City from Aberdeen

Ross McCrorie and Bristol City have decided to couple up this summer as the English Championship club announced his signature in a Love Island inspired reveal.

The Ashton Gate outfit agreed an undisclosed fee for the versatile star - reported to be over £2million - to secure his services from Aberdeen. Ever since his move to Pittodrie he has been a key player and played a major role as Barry Robson's men secured third spot in the Scottish Premiership and with that guaranteed European group stage football.

They will enter the Europa League play-off round and will reach the tournament proper should they come through a two-legged tie. However, they have the fall back of the Europa Conference League and the millions that comes with European football until Christmas.

It's been a busy week for McCrorie who has also been handed a call-up to the Scotland squad by Steve Clarke with the Dark Blues out in Spain at a training camp preparing for two huge Euro 2024 qualifiers with Norway and Georgia.

But he arrives on international duty with a new club side and they went all out to reveal his signature. Sharing a clip of Maya Jama around the fire pit the presenter can be heard saying: "This is Love Island and you never know when someone will walk through that door."

The villa couples then looks shocked as City tease the identity of McCrorie before he appears kitted out with his shades in his new club shirt and his name in the Love Island style.

On his move, he told the club website: “I want to come here and make an impact, help the boys as much as I can and get to know them - I want to help a progressive club get to a new level.

“There is ambition at the club to progress, and, for myself, it’s a new challenge and I think it's a good fit. Everything's cut out for the club to push up the table and towards the play-offs and promotion.”
