Ross County blast Celtic fans as supporters accused of 'intimidating' behaviour with tickets cancelled

Celtic fans have been given a stern warning by Premiership club Ross County ahead of their upcoming away match at the Global Energy Stadium.

The Staggies will host Celtic on August 6 and briefs for the away end are in limited supply. County have been hit with several requests for tickets but they have now sent a blunt message after some home end tickets were snapped up by travelling supporters. They have also condemned situations where some of their ticket office staff have been threatened by those attempting to make purchases.

A statement reads: Ross County would like to put out a very clear message at this stage that any Celtic supporters attempting to purchase tickets for the home end will be refused. Those who try to gain entry to the home end will also be rejected. We are already cancelling numerous purchased tickets by suspected Celtic supporters for the home end and refunds have been processed.

"We need to be very clear that only those who have a ticketing history for home matches will be sold tickets. No tickets will be sold on the day of the match.

"It is disappointing and unacceptable that our Staff have been threatened and intimidated by some individuals attempting to falsely purchase tickets, and this shall not be tolerated."

Celtic begin their title defence at Parkhead against Aberdeen this weekend on flag day before making the journey north to a team they have also land in this season's Premier Sports Cup round of 16.
