Rosie Huntington-Whiteley uses this smart storage method to optimize her closet efficiently

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley.

Supermodel Rosie Huntington-Whiteley's home has long served as a mood board for us, with its marble walls and mid-century modern design. Zoom in, however, and you will notice that while her interiors look lovely, her storage solutions are also just as admirable.

In a recent post, Rosie revealed the inside of her closet, featuring smart and seamless vertical storage in the form of floor-to-ceiling cabinets. Tall closet storage solutions (like Rosie's) are highly popular due to their sleek appearance and (literal) high levels of storage space, so it's unsurprising they're so sought-after by professionals.

'One of the key advantages of vertical storage is its ability to make the most of every square foot,' says Vlatka Lake, storage expert at Space Station.

'While traditional storage solutions often overlook the vertical dimension of a room, this solution ensures that you’re optimizing your space efficiently, providing ample room for storing items without sacrificing valuable floor space.'

Vertical storage checks the boxes for style and functionality; with plenty of room to organize, you can keep your space tidy, which is particularly advantageous for small rooms.

'The vertical structure allows for efficient categorization and easy access to your items, saving you both time and effort in rummaging through your belongings,' Vlatka says. 'Furthermore, by drawing the eye upward, you can help create an illusion of spaciousness, as the height of your room is emphasized. This is particularly advantageous for those who are limited on space.'

Homeowners and renters alike can implement vertical storage solutions by following some of Vlatka's key tips, including more permanent and temporary additions.

'If you’re looking to implement vertical storage within your own home, opt for wall-mounted shelves or floating cabinets to create a sense of openness, or stacked drawers and long cabinets to help stow away your less visually appealing odds and ends,' she suggests.

'For those of you in rental properties or those seeking more temporary solutions, consider no-drill floating shelves or freestanding vertical storage units such as stacking drawers or long cabinets.'
