Rosemary Street shop worker left shaken after woman 'throws basket of goods' towards till

A Belfast shop worker escaped injury on Saturday after a woman threw a basket of goods towards them.

Police say at around 4.30pm on Thursday, December 1, they received a report that a woman had been threatening towards a member of staff at commercial premises in Rosemary Street.

A man who is believed to have accompanied the woman also threatened the staff member, who was left shaken by the incident - the pair were accompanied by a child and a dog.

A PSNI spokesperson said: "She went on to throw a basket of goods towards the staff member, who thankfully was uninjured; however damage was caused to the area around a till.

"Police enquiries are continuing. The woman is described as aged mid-30s, medium build and around 5ft 5in in height. She was wearing a grey top and blue jeans and had a lip piercing. The man was also aged in his mid-30s, approximately 5ft 8in in height and was slim with facial hair.

"Anyone with any information which could assist our investigation should contact 101, and quote reference number 1339 of 01/12/22."
