Two men have been arrested after a search operation led to the discovery of a growhouse and €200,000 worth of cannabis plants in Roscommon.
Gardai have arrested and charged two men, aged in their 40s and 50s, after locating a grow house in Ballinlough on Sunday, March 26.
At approximately 11am on Sunday, a search operation was conducted by the Roscommon / Longford Divisional Drugs Unit, with assistance from gardai at Castlerea Garda Station, at a premises in the village.

"During the course of this search, gardai discovered a grow house operation within the premises," a Garda spokesperson informed.
Approximately 250 suspected cannabis plants at varying maturities were seized with an estimated street value of €200,000.
"Two men (aged in their 40s and 50s) were arrested and detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996 at a Garda station in Co Roscommon," a spokesperson added.
Both men have since been charged and are due to appear before Mullingar District Court this Monday March 27.
This seizure forms part of Operation Tara; an enhanced national anti-drugs strategy, which was launched by Garda Commissioner Drew Harris in 2021.
The focus of Operation Tara is to disrupt, dismantle and prosecute drug trafficking networks, at all levels - international, national, local - involved in the importation, distribution, cultivation, production, local sale and supply of controlled drugs.
A spokesperson has indicated that investigations into the seizure of the growhouse and cannabis plants are ongoing at this time.
