Rory McIlroy records incredible hole-in-one at Travelers Championship

Rory McIlroy recorded his first ace on tour at the Travelers Championship on Thursday afternoon.

The Northern Irishman holed out from 214-yards to move to one-under par and get his round going.

Standing on the 14th tee - Which was McIlroy's fifth hole having started on the back nine - The Holywood star was in a tie for 101st place at one-over.

With a mid-iron in his hands, McIlroy hit a gorgeous draw, moving the ball from right to left towards the hole. The ball landed soft, bounced twice and rolled into the heart of the cup.

McIlroy reacted by high-fiving his playing partner, sharing a joke with his caddy before gesturing to the crowd.

With the putter going cold for McIlroy and being his undoing at the US Open last weekend, the four-time major winner has gone pin seeking in round one to take the putter out of the equation.

He nearly holed out on the very next hole from a fairway bunker and left himself a simple two-footer for Birdie to move to two-under.
