Rory McIlroy is in search of a new Ryder Cup partner after news broke that Ian Poulter resigned his DP World Tour membership.
Poulter, along with Lee Westwood and Sergio Garcia have opted to resign from the DP World Tour having defected to LIV Golf last year.
And the resignation means that the three Ryder Cup legends are no longer eligible to play in the prestigious match play competition.
All three are among the most decorated individuals in the competition's history with Garcia garnering the most points of any player.
McIlroy however will be searching for a new partner having long time teamed up with Ian Poulter at the tournament.
The Northern Ireland man paired up with Poulter twice in 2020 and 2018 and were part of a memorable fourball win over Jason Dufner and Zach Johnson in 2012 that sparked the miracle at Medinah.
The 2023 edition of the Ryder Cup could still see LIV golfers competing for the USA with Brooks Koepka and Phil Mickelson both in contention following strong showings at the Masters.
