Saturday's defeat at Dungannon Swifts summed up Glenavon's season so far, but goalkeeper Rory Brown believes the season has been a positive one to date.
The Lurgan Blues have shown they have all the qualities to mix it with the big boys, but have unfortunately tripped up when least expected.
Brown, who committed his long-term future to Mourneview Park signing a five-year deal at the weekend, was one of the few player to come out of Saturday's defeat at Stangmore Park with any credit from manager Gary Hamilton.

The 22-year-old is hoping for a response when Glenavon entertain Larne this Friday night.
"I'm buzzing to have committed my future to the club, the only way is up after that result on Saturday," he told the club's Youtube channel.
"The season has been a bit up and down, but I think there have been more ups than downs.
"We obviously beat Glentoran recently so we're putting it up to the top sides.
"I don't see why we can't do that every week.
"It's going to be a very tough game after Larne lost last week.
"They will be up for it and looking to get the three points.
"Given how we performed against them earlier this season and how we've played against the other top teams I don't see why we can't go and give them a good game and maybe get the three points.
"It definitely needs to be better from us on Friday night."
Brown signed on with the Lurgan Blues in the summer after previous spells with Ballinamallard United and Glentoran.
The big stopper has produced a number of eye-catching performances and is clearly loving life under Gary Hamilton.
"I'm happy at the club, otherwise I wouldn't have signed the deal," he said.
"I think it took me a while to settle in and get used to my new teammates.
"But as the weeks have gone on I think my performances have got better, they have to stay that way now.
"To be a top player you can't fluctuate on your performances, you need to have top performances every week or it just won't happen for you."
