The Chicago Bears are trading star pass rusher Robert Quinn to the Philadelphia Eagles, according to several NFL insiders.
While the loss of Quinn is a hard one, the most brutal thing was watching Bears linebacker Roquan Smith learn about the trade the moment news broke during his press conference.
Smith had a rough time dealing with the realization that his teammate, fellow captain and friend was no longer in the locker room. Smith was at a loss for words and started tearing up a couple of times. He eventually left the podium, with the help of Bears PR.
“I have a great deal of respect for that guy,” Smith said. “Damn. Crazy.”

The Bears dealt Quinn to the Eagles for a fourth-round draft selection, as general manager Ryan Poles continues to acquire additional draft capital amid his rebuild.
Chicago won’t have to wait long to face Quinn, as the Bears will host the Eagles on Dec. 18.
