Roosters' Collins facing season-ending ban

The Sydney Roosters face a judiciary conundrum of whether to risk Lindsay Collins's chances of playing in a grand final to have him return earlier in September.

Collins was on Saturday charged by the NRL for a hip-drop tackle on Melbourne's Tom Eisenhuth and faces a four-game ban even with an early guilty plea.

It means only a successful judiciary hearing would allow for the Queensland State of Origin prop to play again before the grand final, if the Roosters make it that far.

However if the Tricolours were to take the case to the judiciary on Tuesday night, they would risk adding one match onto the ban if unsuccessful and losing Collins for the decider.

Coach Trent Robinson declined to discuss the incident after Friday's 18-14 win.

Collins's charge came as part of a dramatic post-script to the match.

Jared Waerea-Hargreaves will escape with a $3000 fine for appearing to lead with his head at Nelson Asofa-Solomona when the Storm forward was on the ground.

It is the fourth time Waerea-Hargreaves has been charged this year, but he has been able to accept a fine each time under the NRL's new limitless grade-one charge system.

Included in that is a contrary-conduct offence for referee abuse in round 11, which the judiciary conceded during the James Tamou hearing last week was too lenient.

Asofa-Solomona meanwhile trumps Waerea-Hargreaves for fines.

The Melbourne big man was charged after appearing to put his elbow near the face of Roosters winger Joseph Suaalii, but can still accept a $3000 sanction.

It is the fifth time Asofa-Solomona has been charged this year.

Storm star Cameron Munster was also handed a concerning act warning by the NRL on Saturday morning for elbowing Roosters halfback Sam Walker in the face.

Munster will not be fined or suspended but has been told by the NRL they are aware of the incident and it won't be allowed again.

Meanwhile the judiciary concerns aren't the only issue for the Roosters with star lock Victor Radley knocked out in a sickening collision with Storm captain Jesse Bromwich.

Radley attempted to tackle Bromwich but made contact with his hip and was left convulsing on the field, before being taken off on a stretcher.

The lock was able to gather and celebrate with teammates post-game but will receive an $1800 fine for earlier making dangerous contact with Jahrome Hughes.

There are also fears over a groin injury for winger Daniel Tupou, who lasted just 13 minutes in the win.
