Ronan O'Gara will reunite with Scott Robertson to form a "dynamite" coaching team for the Barbarians against an All Blacks XV in London in November.
O'Gara, who guided La Rochelle to their first Champions Cup crown in June when they beat Leinster in Marseille, credits Crusaders boss Robertson as a major coaching influence.
The Corkman spent two years with Crusaders between time with Racing and La Rochelle, helping the Kiwi outfit to win two Super Rugby titles.
Robertson is in the wings if NZRU decide the time has come in the wake of Ireland's series win against the All Blacks to bring in a new head coach.
But the duo are set to link up as a coaching team again at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on November 13.
“I am honoured to be coaching the Barbarians this Autumn as we take on the All Blacks XV," O'Gara stated.
“It will be a dynamite coaching team and I’m very much looking forward to reuniting with Ray after my time with him at Crusaders.
"It is always great to join forces with world-class coaches like him and to do so for this world-famous club will be an unforgettable experience.
"We’re going to put our heads together in the coming months and devise a squad of exciting talent who will light up the pitch at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and bring the Barbarians’ style of play to life against the All Blacks XV.”
Robertson, who has led Crusaders to four Super Rugby titles in a row, said: “Rugby throws you great opportunities and coaching the Baa-Baas has to be one of the best there is.
"I am proud to help the incredible club and add to its history.”
