Singer Ronan Keating covered his face as he made an appearance on his own chat show to discuss his son Jack being on Love Island. The Life is a Rollercoaster hitmaker, who is currently on tour, appeared via video link ahead of his show in York to chat with co-stars Alex Jones and Jermaine Jenas.
The 45-year-old admitted that he was a 'absolute mess' over seeing Jack, 23, as one of six male bombshells sent to Casa Amor with the aim of tempting away the ladies from their couplings in the main villa in Mallorca. And Alex and Jermaine were in stitches as he appeared at first on screen hiding his face with his hands.
"Come on Ronan don't cover your face up this chat was always coming," urged Jermaine. Asked how he found out about Jack becoming an Islander Ronan said: "He's been on the shortlist for about six weeks now. We 've known he could have been going in. It was a week before the announcement and he said 'I'm flying to Spain tomorrow.'"

Ronan, who shot to fame as a member of the Irish boyband Boyzone which he joined when he was just 16, said Jack was in 'lockdown' in Spain before making his debut in the episode screened on Friday night. "It's been silent and then he appeared on the TV last night," he explained.
And he added: "I'm a mess. I'm an absolute mess. He told Alex and Jermaine that he's 'worried' about his son after noticing that he seemed quiet in Sunday night's episode.
"He was very quiet, he seemed a little bit nervous which is understandable I guess," said Ronan. "I hope he does okay. He's got such a big heart and he's a real softie. I worry about him in there with all those other guys."
Asked by Alex if he had reservations about Jack entering the ITV2 dating contest, which couples up singles in the sun with the winning couple scooping £50,000, he laughed: "Come on, the kids today they don't listen."
He on the advice he gave to his son he said: "I said 'be yourself and have a good time.' The bottom line is to be you. I hope people will see that and warm to him. He's my boy, I want to look after him."
Ronan was also quizzed about Jack appearing to bond with footballing star and pundit Michael Owen's daughter Gemma as they chatted about their families. "They had a lovely chat. You and Michael could be in-laws," suggested Michael's friend Jermaine, who played for Tottenham Hotspur and Nottingham Forest.
"Outlaws," Ronan laughingly replied, before saying he 'fell off his chair' over a remark made by Jack to Gemma that he had 'retired.' "He did drop the line that I was retired," he said. "I fell off my chair. I'm doing The One Show next week. I'm in York tonight. I'm definitely not retired."
And he made a jokey dig at Jermaine when he wondered if Ronan might make an appearance on the show if Jack goes the distance. "Will I see you walking in to support your boy?" asked Jermaine.
And Ronan replied: "Firstly JJ I think you're a little too old to be watching Love Island." After Jermaine and Alex fell about laughing Jermaine told him: "That's a good get out."
