Ron Rivera gives update on rookie RB Brian Robinson Jr.

One day after Washington Commanders running back Brian Robinson Jr. was shot in an attempted carjacking in Washington, D.C., head coach Ron Rivera offered an update on Robinson, courtesy of Nicki Jhabvala of The Washington Post.

Rivera gathered his team before practice Monday morning to update them on what happened.

Rivera told the media that when he received the call about Robinson, he was actually watching game tape of the rookie running back. As for Robinson’s football prognosis, which is obviously the least important component right now, Rivera said the following: “We’ll go on, and when he’s ready and healthy, we’ll welcome him back.”

Rivera said the team would learn more today following a physical exam. The head coach also stated there would be a discussion later Monday on whether Robinson would go on the NFI (non-football injury) list.

We’ll continue to follow this story.
