After Washington’s embarrassing 24-10 loss to the Cleveland Browns Sunday, Commanders head coach Ron Rivera met with the media.
Rivera was asked about the quarterback situation for the Commanders next week if they were eliminated from playoff contention on Sunday. Rivera’s response was a curious one.
“We could be eliminated,” Rivera answered. The reporter replied “yes” to Rivera.
His response.
“Well, we’ll see.”

Was Rivera being serious here? You’d like to think he was being facetious with his answer, but it certainly appeared authentic.
With Detroit’s blowout win over the Bears earlier on Sunday, a Green Bay win over Minnesota would eliminate Washington from playoff contention.
Amazing, huh? On Nov. 27, the Commanders sat at 7-5 but haven’t won a game since. Now it appears Washington is heading for another offseason of change that could include a change in ownership.
