Some Hearts fans on their way to Zurich spotted a familiar face on their flight - in Hibs supremo Ron Gordon.
The Gorgie side are heading to Switzerland for their Europa League playoff first leg hoping to put themselves in a good position for next week's return leg at Tynecastle. They've started the Premiership season well with seven points from nine and the travelling Jambos are optimistic of picking up a good result on the road.
The only blotch on their domestic season so far, in fact, was a 1-1 draw at Hibs with Martin Boyle striking late to seal a point for Lee Johnson's team. And while the next scheduled derby isn't until after the new year, it seems chairman Gordon has wasted no time in getting an extra scouting mission in. Hearts fans on social media shared a snap from user @scottmckinnon51, showing the Easter Road chief in amongst the Maroon faithful on a flight to Zurich.
The game is being played at Kybun Park in St Gallen due to a concert at Zurich's usual stadium. The Swiss said have started the season in poor form and sit rooted to the bottom of the table but Jambos boss Robbie Neilson is refusing to underestimate them.
He said: "Zurich are still Swiss champions so we have to be respectful of that as well. They have not had a great start to the season but still have international players there and are the Swiss champions so we need to make sure that we play our best game.
"We want to bring something back to Tynecastle, whether that be a draw or a win or a close, to use this atmosphere and intensity to drive us forward and push us through. But they have real quality so we need to make sure we negate that but we feel we have real threat in the attacking area and we believe we can go there and score.”
