Police are hunting a knife attacker after a man was stabbed in the back at a shopping centre in Romford.
Paramedics and Met police officers were called to The Brewery around 12.55pm on Tuesday, to reports of an injured man.
Witnesses reported seeing a man with a knife injury to the back.
Police searched the local area and found the victim, who was taken to an east London hospital.
“We await an update on his condition,” said a Metropolitan Police spokesperson on Tuesday afternoon.
“At this early stage we believe that the stabbing took place inside the stairwell at the Brewery.
“Enquiries are ongoing to identify and locate the suspect. A crime scene is in place.”
Police are appealing for witnesses to get in touch.
