Romelu Lukaku sent brutal Chelsea messages as Belgium crash out of World Cup

Romelu Lukaku was guilty of missing three glorious chances for Belgium in their World Cup draw with Croatia which saw the Red Devils crash out in the tournaments group stages. The Chelsea loanee was brought on at half time for Dries Mertens and immediately had a difficult chance showing signs there would be opportunities for the forward.

The 29-year-old struck the post from just eight yards out after great work by Yannick Carrasco and then headed over from roughly the same position just a few minutes later. Lukaku likely thought it may have been third time lucky when a cross fell his way but he was unable to convert from just a few yards out.

Lukaku is set to return to Chelsea after spending the current campaign on-loan at Inter, and Blues supporters were quick to react to Lukaku's performance.
