With February 14 looming large on the horizon, hotel chains have launched a series of romantic special deals.
Valentine's Day actually falls on a Monday this year, so whether you want to take the day off and enjoy a romantic trip away or just book something fun to do with your Valentine - or indeed your Galentine or Palentine - there's plenty of great options.
Hotels have pulled together a range of different packages aimed at tempting people to enjoy a February break.
Here's some of our favourites - and with many of these hotel chains having venues across the UK, whether you're looking for an urban city break or a romantic rural retreat there should be something right up your street.
Hilton Hotels
While Hilton Hotels aren't doing a specific Valentine's package group-wide, the Hilton Honors sale, which is currently live and offers up to 25% off the usual rates for bookings for stays before May 9, means there are some amazing one-night deals if you wanted to book your own break.
Our pick: From big city breaks in Liverpool, London and Manchester to getaways to lower-key getaways to Bath, Nottingham and York there's plenty of stunning hotels to form the bolthole for your break.
For something a little bit different, the Hilton Garden Inn in Snowdonia offers the perfect mix of outdoor activities, adrenaline sports and walks alongside a luxurious Wave Garden Spa and wellness centre perfect for relaxing and easing away the aches and pains of the day.
You can even get rooms with idyllic lagoon views (pictured).
Hyatt Hotels
Unlike many hotel chains, Hyatt isn't currently running group-wide sales for discounted rooms in the run up to Valentine's Day. However, a bit of digging around sites like Booking.com or SecretEscapes.com can see you bag a bargain if you have a specific town or city you want to celebrate in.
Hyatt Regency hotels tend to be more boutique-like and ideal for couples, while Hyatt House hotels offer apartment style suites perfect if you want more of a home away from home.
Our pick: The Hyatt Place London City East is one of the most luxurious hotels for the price you'll find in the City of London. Right on the edge of the business centre of the city and a stone's throw from the restaurants, cafes and shops of Whitechapel, Shoreditch and Brick Lane, you can get a room at the Hyatt Place from just £99.
If you want to make things even more special, they're running a special Valentine's Day promotion offering overnight stay, breakfast, a bottle of prosecco and rose petals and chocolates in the room starting from £129 per night.
Just remember to check out the jaw-dropping rooftop bar (pictured) which means you can sit on the 18th floor terrace watching the twinkling lights of Canary Wharf, the Gherkin building and the rest of the iconic London skyline. They even provide blankets to snuggle under.
Malmaison
Malmaison is renowned for its host of quirky-yet-luxurious boutique hotels, boasting in-house restaurants perfect for romantic dinners.
The hotel chain has unveiled a special offer ideal for a romantic getaway weekend - the Valentine's and Chill offer includes a room, a three course Valentine's dinner in the hotel's restaurant for two including a cocktail each and a full cooked breakfast the following morning.
Prices start at £209 and are valid for stays between February 11 and 14, although London venues are not included so if it's the big smoke you'd like to head to it's not the best option.
The cheapest Malmaison offering it is Reading, from £120 a night, but there are plenty of other places to tempt including Brighton (from £135), Cheltenham (£140), Edinburgh (£129) or Liverpool (£125).
See the full list of participating hotels here.
Our pick: Why not explore Edinburgh? Malmaison's deal is £196 on February 13 so you can wake up on Valentine's Day itself at Malmaison Edinburgh and enjoy the history, a wide range of attractions and stunning architecture.
Warner Leisure Hotels
With 14 beautiful country hotels dotted around the country from Cheshire to the Isle of Wight via North Wales, Warner Leisure Hotels are perfect for exploring part of the UK you've never been to before.
Our pick: There are a wide range of different two or four night breaks available in various types of accommodation, with prices starting from £115 which includes entertainment, meals and other activities and sports and leisure options.
Nidd Hall Hotel, North Yorkshire, is offering two nights dinner, bed and breakfast for £195 a person with nightly live music and shows.
Moxy Hotels
Moxy is a cooler, less formal offshoot of the Marriott hotel brand with 16 branches around the UK.
The hotels are as much for hanging out in welcoming communal areas as being tucked away in your room - you're literally encouraged to check in at the bar rather than a formal reception.
While rooms are bijou, they're packed with everything you need for a comfortable stay, including smart flat screen TVs that you can cast Netflix and YouTube to.
Our pick: The latest Moxy to open, Moxy Manchester City has announced a Cocktails, Cake & Love offer to celebrate Valentine’s Day, with cupcakes in partnership with local independent, Hey Little Cupcake.
The special package for two includes an overnight stay with breakfast, two sparkling Rossini cocktails on the evening of the stay, a Valentine’s inspired Hey Little Cupcake each, and late checkout at 1PM.
It's available to book from Friday 11th February to Monday 14th February, with rates starting from £99.
Travelodge
It might not sound the fanciest or most romantic of hotel getaways, but depending on where you're going and what else you're doing to celebrate Valentine's Day, Travelodge is often a convenient and comfortable option.
And what's more, they've just launched a pay day sale that will run until February 2, offering 10% off a one-night stay and up to 30% off the cheapest night on a two-night stay - ideal if you want to make a weekend of it.
Our pick: London hotels are, in our opinion, where Travelodge comes into their own. Because when you're in the middle of the capital with so much to do, see, eat and explore, sometimes you just want somewhere comfortable, close by and convenient to get back to after a full day and night of fun.
Travelodge Covent Garden is ideal if you're going into the West End. It's literally a minute's walk from half a dozen theatres, and is ideal for everything London has to offer. If you wanted to wake up in London on Valentine's Day then a room here would cost you just £74.99 in the Travelodge sale.
At which point, why not splurge on last minute discount theatre tickets or a romantic boat trip with lunch on board up the Thames?
