Romantic man planning elaborate spaghetti alphabet proposal to win over his love

A romantic man has told how he is planning an elaborate spaghetti alphabet proposal.

He wants to use a tin of Valentine's Day themed pasta letters and has been building up to finding the right moment.

The man posted on social media platform Reddit to let others know about his long-planned proposal.

The romantic plan has seen him hold on to the special edition Heinz Spaghetti Alphabet for two years.

Now he is preparing for the right moment to spell out "marry me" or something similar using a pasta alphabet.

On the forum, he wrote: "Missus wants me to pull out all the stops when I eventually propose.

"I've kept this bad boy for two years." and also posted the Marry me? Valentine's edition of the tin.

One said: "Adorable. I like the idea of you occasionally getting it out over the last two years, just to ponder it and then put it away again until the time is right. Well done pal. Well done."

Another person who posted wrote: "And here was I thinking about bottle of champagne and proposing over a romantic dinner in a posh restaurant.

"Although I now have a cunning plan: still propose in a posh restaurant but ask them to serve up the Heinz Marry Me. I feel confident this will work."

A third person liked his idea and suggested it was very British.

He said: "That is the most British thing I've ever seen."

A fourth responder questioned which toast he would use to spell out his romantic gesture.

He replied: "Fresh bloomer (unsliced) from the bakers.

"Will slice it myself like the true man that I am."

The product by Heinz is now called Spaghetti Alphabetti and joins Spaghetti Hoops as a family favourite.

The Mirror reported earlier this month how a woman surprised her partner with a romantic getaway to Paris, all expenses paid and he hated it.

To make matters worse, she could not understand his outburst - as he blasted her for being "selfish" after she delivered what she thought was good news.

Taking to Mumsnet, the woman explained her confusion over her boyfriend's angry response to the romantic gesture.

She wrote: "I surprised him this morning with a city break for Valentine's Day to Paris.

"I've always wanted to go and thought it would be a lovely weekend away.

"He's angry at me for not discussing it and said it's because I'm 'selfish' 'only child syndrome.'"

Keen to emphasise her good intent, she added: "I honestly didn't do it to be bossy or overbearing..I just wanted to do something nice."

And the woman said she had taken care of the financial aspect of the trip.

She added: "I've paid for flights /transfers /hotel so it's not like I'm asking for anything from him."
