Roger Sanchez Camp and Furnace set cancelled at last moment over 'police incident'

World famous DJ Roger Sanchez was told he could not perform moments before he was due to begin his set at Camp and Furnace on Saturday evening.

The 'Another Chance' hitmaker told his fans he was "about to go on" at the popular Baltic Quarter venue, on Greenland Street, when he was informed there had been an incident and "police were doing an investigation".

Mr Sanchez posted a video to his Instagram page, which boasts 223,000 followers, to apologise for the sudden cancellation and promised to be back in Liverpool soon. He said: "Hey guys, I wanted to let you guys know what happened last night. I was in Liverpool at Camp and Furnace, and literally right as I was about to go on, something happened.

"The police were there and I was literally told I could not perform, so really, truly sorry to everyone who came out to see me play, I was gutted at the fact I wasn't able to play for you."

Mr Sanchez said he was told Merseyside Police were investigating but the details of what happened were not explained.

He added: "I'm not quite sure what exactly happened, I wasn't really given clarity on it, but just know guys that I'm truly truly sorry I wasn't able to perform. Hopefully, I'll be able to be back again in Liverpool soon and get a chance to play for you guys alright? Thank you guys for coming out and the promoters man, they were gutted as well so I share that with them."

There are unconfirmed reports that the incident involved a stabbing. It is not yet clear what the process will be for refunding concert goers who were asked to leave the venue.

The ECHO has contacted Merseyside Police and Camp and Furnace for comment.
