Two teenagers have been sentenced following the fatal stabbing of a rival drug dealer, the Met police has said.

Muhammed Danso, 18, of Fieldfare Road, Bexley, was sentenced to 10 years in prison following the death of Abdirizak Hassan, 24. Danso previously plead not guilty to murder but has been convicted of manslaughter at Kingston Crown Court on Friday.

A 15-year-old was found guilty of manslaughter and was given a seven-year sentence on the same date.

Detective inspector Adam Guttridge, the senior investigating officer, said: “This case clearly highlights the extreme levels of violence associated with the illegal drug trade and the devastating effects on our communities.

“The diligent and painstaking examination of hours of CCTV and phone data evidence linked our suspects to the scene and to each other.

“Knowing that three dangerous individuals have been taken off our streets has made those efforts wholly worthwhile.”

The pair, along with Elijah Roye, 19, of Carey Gardens, Wandsworth, - who was previously found guilty of murder - had tricked Mr Hassan into entering an address in Roehampton on May 5, 2021.

When Mr Hassan entered, the trio attacked and stabbed him in the chest, the police said. Police were called at 11.04am on May 6 to reports that a body had been found in a block of flats in Dowdeswell Close.

According to the police, the group used the phone of the woman who owned the property to lure Mr Hassan to the location. The trio forced her to claim she wanted to buy drugs before attacking their victim at 5.20pm when he arrived.

All three were found guilty at Kingston Crown Court on May 27. Roye, who was found guilty of murder, will be sentenced on November 2.

Mr Guttridge concluded: "I praise the bravery of the witnesses in this case who came forward to assist the investigation. We need the support of the public if we are to reduce violence across London.

"While today’s sentence won’t bring Abdirizak back to his family, but it is my sincere hope that they gain a sense of justice and closure now that the court process has concluded.”
