Rodrigo Bentancur names his favourite Premier League ground apart from Tottenham Hotspur Stadium

Rodrigo Bentancur has made an impact at Tottenham Hotspur and in the Premier League and the midfielder has been discussing those stadiums that have made an impact on him.

The 24-year-old arrived at Spurs on deadline day in the January transfer window and has become an important part of Antonio Conte's midfield within just 17 matches in England. The Uruguay international has plenty of experience despite his age, having won three Serie A titles, two Coppa Italias, two Argentinean league titles and the U20 South American Championship.

Having fit so much already into his career so far, Bentancur has taken to the pitches in plenty of stadiums around the world. In an interview in Tottenham's matchday programme for this month's north London derby, the midfielder named some of his favourite grounds and those that had left a mark on his him and his career.

On the biggest stadium he has played in, he said: "Wembley Stadium, in a friendly against Tottenham! It was my first year at Juve, and we came to play a friendly in London. It was incredible, a fantastic stadium. Being one of my first games for Juve and having the chance to play in that stadium was great."

Bentancur admitted that while the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium has made the biggest impact on him, his favourite away ground lies further up the country.

"Tottenham's is the stadium that has impacted me the most so far, but for an away stadium I would say Manchester United's. It’s an incredible venue that has a lot of history," he said. "I played there also for Juventus, but playing there for the second time with Spurs, I could see that it is a very beautiful stadium."

Bentancur's professional debut came with Boca Juniors in a friendly at the Estadio José Marla Minella in Mar del Plata in Argentina, against Vélez Sarsfield, while his international bow came for Uruguay in the second half of a 0-0 draw in Venezuela at the Estadio Polideportivo de Pueblo Nuevo in San Cristobal, home of Deportivo Tachira.

When asked the most difficult away stadium he has played in, the Spurs man said: "In Argentina, the stadium where I heard the fans the most was at Rosario Central's, I remember a game that we were winning 1-0 and then the crowd started to support Rosario Central in an incredible way and they won 2-1. I think that was the toughest one. Rosario Central and Newell's Old Boys have great fans."

As for the venue of his most important game so far, Bentancur added: "I think I would say the Estadio Centenario (in Uruguay), where I played all the World Cup qualifiers with my national team and, in particular, the game we won against Peru in March which booked our qualification to the World Cup."
