Tottenham’s Carabao Cup semi-final first leg with Liverpool was stopped for several minutes after Rodrigo Bentancur suffered a worrying injury at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

There was huge concern around the Spurs midfielder’s well-being following a corner from the hosts.
The Uruguayan star stooped low to head the football at the corner was whipped in but was left on the ground immediately after.
Bentancur’s Tottenham team-mates came to his aid as he laid on the turf.
Speaking on Sky Sports’ commentary, Alan Smith said: “There’s a lot of concern there. Bentancur went for the diving header, nobody challenged him I don’t think. I think he just fell awkwardly.”

The medical team came on moments after, tending to the midfielder as the cameras panned to Ange Postecoglou.
Lead commentator Rob Hawthorne added: “Yeah, I think he stooped low to try and get his head on the ball and possibly ended up crashing into the ground and landing on his head which is a concern that Spurs could do without.”
Following a lengthy stoppage, Bentancur was taken off on a stretcher, adding to Spurs’ injury woes.
Brennan Johnson replaced Bentancur in the 15th minute.
Tottenham gave an update on Bentancur’s condition during the half-time break on social media.
They tweeted: “We can confirm Rodrigo is conscious, talking and will go to hospital for further checks.”
