Rodney McAree says he is "fortunate" after returning to Dungannon Swifts as manager.
McAree, who played for and managed the Swifts for 14 years, returns to Stangmore Park after leaving the managerial hot seat at Glentoran.
The 48-year-old led the glens into Europe after taking over from Mick McDermott in January, but it was announced that at the weekend that he was leaving The Oval as he wanted to have a job closer to home.

McAree says he is "excited at the challenge which lies ahead".
"I’m delighted to be coming back home to Stangmore Park, this opportunity has come at a good time for myself and I’m fortunate," he said.
"It will give me the opportunity to try and unite Dungannon United Youth and Dungannon Swifts and make that bond even stronger than it already is. I can’t wait to get started at this stage.
"I’m really excited at the challenge which lies ahead."
McAree was part of the successful Dungannon Swifts side which gained promotion to the top flight for the first time some 20 years ago before going on to qualify for Europe.
As a manager he led them to League Cup glory in 2018 with victory over Ballymena United before he left to take over at Coleraine.
He was to leave The Showgrounds at the end of the season before taking on coaching roles at Warrenpoint Town and the Glens.
