Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers says Hibernian's sizeable travelling support at Celtic Park yesterday could lead to similar allocations when Rangers visit in the future.
The Ibrox club have been granted 2,500 tickets for this weekend's hotly anticipated derby.
Away fans have been locked out of the fixture for the past year and more, although that will change on Sunday.
Parkhead boss Rodgers, however, thinks, eventually, things may get back to how they used to be, with Rangers being granted the travelling allocation Hibs got at the weekend and Celtic getting the full Broomloan stand at Ibrox.

He said: "I think it's the first step, isn't it? I thought it was a great atmosphere today, a beautiful day. The noise was good, and that activated our supporters as well. Hibs have had, as I said, a really, really good run.
"They'll be disappointed to lose, but the supporters can be proud of their team. For us, our supporters as well, we give them so much pride in their team because of what they've given to the season.
"The professionalism, the passion that they're playing with and the hunger to gain results consistently is very impressive.
"Yes, I thought the atmosphere was really good. And this is the game next week as well, with 2,500 Rangers supporters. Hopefully, in time, that might grow.
"But if not, at least we get some allocation of supporters in the away games."
It remains to be seen what the derby allocations may look like next season, although travelling supporters will be allowed into both clashes between Celtic and Rangers before the current campaign is out.
The teams meet on Sunday in Glasgow's east end. Rodgers' men could move 19 points clear of their city rivals with a victory. Interim Rangers head coach Barry Ferguson will have other ideas as he gets a first taste of the fixture from the dugout.
