Rodgers hails Idah for 'taking that responsibility' after Kyogo's exit

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers was delighted for Adam Idah after he scored another goal this evening against Dundee.

The Irish striker made it four in three games as the Scottish Premiership champions ran riot against Tony Docherty's side.

Arne Engels, Idah, Daizen Maeda, and Nicolas Kuhn all scored in the 6-0 victory as Rodgers' men moved 13 points clear of city rivals Rangers at the top of the table.

When Celtic lost Kyogo Furuhashi to French Ligue 1 side Rennes last week, major concerns were raised among supporters, and while Rodgers openly wanted to sign another centre-forward, Idah has more than stepped up to the plate in recent matches: "He always was going to have to be patient," said the Parkhead boss.

"He is taking that responsibility now. With Kyogo going, he sees this as an opportunity.

"I'm so pleased for him. He's moving differently now, and he was a real handful tonight."

Idah is now up to 12 goals in all competitions for Celtic this season.

The 23-year-old is in fine fettle and grasping his chance amid Furuhashi's mid-season departure.

He will now turn his attention to Raith Rovers in the Scottish Cup this Saturday, as the holders aim to make it through to the quarter-finals.
