Brendan Rodgers has clarified his decision to deploy Daizen Maeda through the middle as Celtic seek a historic UEFA Champions League result against Bayern Munich tonight.
Celtic go into the knockout stage play-off second leg knowing they must overturn a 2-1 deficit if they want to advance to the competition's last-16.
Maeda was the Hoops' goalscorer on that occasion, giving his team a lifeline after switching from a left-sided role to a central attacking position during the second half.
The Scottish champions have never defeated Bayern across their previous five attempts, emphasising the task ahead given the Bundesliga giants rarely lose to anyone on home turf.
The Celtic manager has made two changes from the previous tie, with winter recruits Jeffrey Schlupp and Jota replacing Greg Taylor and Adam Idah in his starting XI.

Asked if the decision to tweak his team was influenced by the strong end to the game in Glasgow, Rodgers told Amazon Prime Sport: "I think Daizen gives us that extra pressure at the top end of the field.
"Adam has done great for us, but just his [Maeda] ability to spread that little bit of fear when we do go to press, and to obviously run in behind. His penetration is really good, so it will make them think because their two centre-halves are really physical.
"And Jota on the side is because he can take the ball under pressure."
