Sir Rod Stewart left fans stunned after he was spotted giving a helping hand to security at Parkhead stadium tonight.
The Maggie May singer watched on as Celtic took an impressive 4-2 win against Dundee United before he signed autographs for lucky fans as he helped the security team clear fences.
Fans who waited outside the stadium to get a look at their victorious players were left shocked after seeing the 77-year-old chart-topper alongside the crew. As well as the all important football, the Hoops daft singer actually has another reason to be in Glasgow this weekend as he is set to be honoured at the Scottish Music Awards.
The Do Ya Think I'm Sexy singer will be honoured at the iconic Barrowland Ballrooms in Glasgow at the Nordoff Robbins fundraiser which is sponsored by Specsavers. The rockstar is joined by the likes of Paolo Nutini, Gerry Cinnamon, Wet Leg, Craig Logan and Rhianne Downey in being nominated for an accolade.
The awards celebrate the best of home-grown Scottish talent and the chart-topper is up for the Specsavers Outstanding Achievement in Music Award.
The father of eight, who recently enjoyed a trip to Glasgow visiting the Celtic FC training grounds with his youngest son, paid an emotional tribute to his late Scottish father. “In all my days I never ever dreamt I’d be receiving an award from the land of my Father.
"This will be undoubtedly, an emotional evening for me, I just wish my dear old Dad (a Hibs supporter by the way) was here to enjoy it. Thank you so much everyone.”
Ahead of his upcoming UK tour, Rod has been enjoying some downtime and enjoyed a trip to Glasgow with his family just a few weeks ago. The star was in town for Celtic's impressive 6-1 win against Hibs and visited a number of landmarks in the city.
The Celtic super fan worked up an appetite after visiting the team's training ground in Lennoxtown last month, as he got down and dirty washing the football strips. He enjoyed a meal out with the footballers and his family at Bella Vita on Mosspark Boulevard in Glasgow's south side.
The 77-year-old went to the training grounds with his youngest son Aiden, 11, and shared snaps from the trip on social media. Taking to Instagram, he wrote: "Honoured to have visited Celtics training ground ‘Lennoxtown’ with our ‘Hoops’ team @takeleyfc.hoops with @celticfc & @aberdeenfc."
