The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reported that approximately 130 rockets were launched into northern Israel from Lebanon on Friday. Sirens were activated in various locations within the Merom HaGalil Regional Council, but fortunately, no casualties were reported, and there were no impacts within settlements.
Ten firefighting teams were dispatched to areas near the town of Safed and Kibbutz Ortal in the Golan Heights to combat wildfires that erupted following the rocket attacks from Lebanon.
Hezbollah claimed responsibility for targeting the main air defense base of the Israeli Northern Command with a barrage of Katyusha rockets, as well as the air and missile defense headquarters at the Kilaa barracks.
On the other hand, Lebanon's news agency reported that Israel conducted additional airstrikes on Friday, with Israeli aircraft striking the town of Yaroun in the Bint Jbeil district. The region experienced heavy surveillance and drone activity by hostile aircraft, with the Zibqin Valley subjected to artillery fire.
These events unfolded following Israel's coordinated attacks on Hezbollah members using explosives concealed within pagers and walkie-talkies. The escalating tensions have brought the Middle East to the brink of a broader conflict, reminiscent of the war in Gaza that ensued after Palestinian militant group Hamas' assault on Israel in October last year.
