On Wednesday morning, scores of rockets were launched from Lebanon towards northern Israel in retaliation for Israeli airstrikes that killed four officials from the militant Hezbollah group, including a senior military commander. The Israeli military reported detecting about 90 projectiles, with some intercepted, causing several fires.

The senior commander, Taleb Sami Abdullah, known as Hajj Abu Taleb within Hezbollah, was the highest-ranking official killed since the conflict began eight months ago. This incident occurred amidst escalating tensions along the Lebanon-Israel border, with Hezbollah increasing attacks on northern Israel and Israeli airstrikes targeting locations deep inside Lebanon.

Hezbollah's Al-Manar TV confirmed the rocket launches from south Lebanon into northern Israel, prompting sirens in the Israeli region. Abdullah, who led Hezbollah's Nasr Unit in south Lebanon near the Israeli border, was killed in a strike on a house in Jwaya where he and three other officials were meeting.

Israeli airstrikes in Lebanon have resulted in over 400 deaths, primarily Hezbollah members, but also including more than 70 civilians. On the Israeli side, 15 soldiers and 10 civilians have lost their lives since the conflict began.

Lebanese militant group Hezbollah announced the death of one of its commanders, Taleb Sami Abdullah, also known as 'Hajj Abu Taleb,' early Wednesday. Described as a 'martyr on the road to Jerusalem,' Abdullah's death marks another casualty in the ongoing conflict with Israel. Hezbollah shared a photo of Abdullah alongside Wissam al-Tawil, another senior commander killed in January.

Israel has not yet commented on Abdullah's death. The recent escalation in cross-border clashes between Israel and Hezbollah has seen increased hostilities, with Israel's offensive in the southern Gaza city of Rafah and Hezbollah launching attacks deeper into Israeli territory with advanced weaponry.

Since the conflict began on October 8, Israeli drone strikes have targeted hundreds of Hezbollah members. In Lebanon, over 400 individuals have been killed, predominantly Hezbollah members, with more than 70 civilian casualties. Israel has reported 15 soldier and 10 civilian deaths as a result of the conflict.
