On Tuesday, rockets were launched from the Rafah area in the Gaza Strip towards Kerem Shalom and the Re’im area in southern Israel, as reported by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF). The IDF confirmed that six projectiles were aimed at Kerem Shalom, hindering the entry of humanitarian aid into Gaza. The IDF has pledged to ensure the necessary security conditions for the reopening of the Kerem Shalom Crossing.
The Kerem Shalom crossing, a vital channel for humanitarian assistance to Gaza, had been closed on Sunday following a rocket attack that resulted in the tragic deaths of four Israeli soldiers. The US State Department has announced plans for the crossing to resume operations on Wednesday.
Additionally, the IDF revealed that approximately 12 projectiles were detected crossing from Rafah in southern Gaza into the Re'im area earlier in the day. The IDF's Aerial Defense Array successfully intercepted five of the projectiles, while the remaining ones landed in an open area without causing any injuries.
Swift action was taken by the Israeli Air Force (IAF) as they targeted and struck the launcher responsible for firing rockets towards Israel within a short timeframe.
