Rockets at Raptors (Nov. 9): Prediction, point spread, odds, best bet

The Houston Rockets were 3-1 in the 2022-23 preseason, and their most impressive victory was by 16 points over the veteran-laden Raptors. Unfortunately, the 2-9 start of the regular season has been a very different story. That difference could be on full display when the teams meet again on Wednesday night in Toronto.

If you’re looking to do some last-minute betting research for the Rockets-Raptors rematch, you’re in luck! We’ll give you the latest point spread, money line odds and over/under number, as well as the information you’ll need to make the smartest bet at BetMGM.

The game starts at 6:30 p.m. Central and can be seen via AT&T SportsNet Southwest (in Houston markets) or on NBA League Pass.

The good news for the Rockets is, despite their lowly record, they come in with some momentum after Monday’s win in Orlando. Second-year guard Jalen Green dropped an efficient 34 points on 12-of-18 shooting (66.7%) and 5-of-11 on 3-pointers (45.5%), while big man Alperen Sengun added 20 points and 10 rebounds.

The Raptors enter Wednesday’s game after splitting a home-and-home series versus Chicago, with the home team winning both times. Veteran guard Fred VanVleet led the Raptors in scoring in each outing against the Bulls with 30 and 27 points, respectively.

Rockets at Raptors injury report:

  • Rockets: Jae’Sean Tate out (right ankle soreness), Bruno Fernando out (left knee soreness)
  • Raptors: Pascal Siakam out (right adductor strain), Khem Birch out (right knee soreness), Justin Champagnie out (lower back soreness)

Advice and prediction

Even in Monday’s victory, Houston’s defense continued to go in the wrong direction. It has allowed 129 and 127 points, respectively, in the last two games. With that in mind, the over-under total of 224.5 feels a bit low, even if the Rockets have enough offense to cover.

Prediction: Raptors 119, Rockets 110
