Rocket League Halloween event adds horror villains to the sports game

The Rocket League Halloween event starts Oct. 19, 2022, and runs through Nov. 1, 2022, bringing with it two limited-time modes and several challenges and rewards inspired by classic horror films. Psyonix is adding the Farmstead (Spooky) Arena for the duration of the event and will run Haunted Hallows challenges during each match, which players can complete to earn some frightful new car parts.

These include Leatherface’s chainsaw wheels from Texas Chainsaw Massacre; a Chucky decal and Good Guys wheels inspired by Chucky; Jigsaw Blade wheels; and Sam’s Treat decal, among others.

The Rocket League Halloween event’s limited-time modes for 2022 are Heatseeker and Spooky Cube. Spooky Cube transforms the ball into a pumpkin augmented with mutations that make it move faster and bounce erratically around the arena. This mode begins Oct. 19, 2022, and runs through Oct. 26, 2022.

In Heatseeker, players must contend with a possessed ball that constantly hurls itself toward the opposing team’s goal when touched, but if the shot misses, it launches itself back towards your own goal. Heatseeker begins Oct. 26, 2022, and ends when the event comes to a close.

Golden Pumpkins earned from completing challenges in these modes unlock items from the Velocity, Triumph, and Auriga Item Series. There’s also a “Sole Survivor” Player Title in the Item Shop, along with new anthems inspired by horror movies.

If you’re looking for other Halloween events to get stuck into, the Dead by Daylight Halloween event is live now, and MultiVersus has a slew of new skins up for grabs.
