Rochelle Humes hosts This Morning as Phillip Schofield gives Holly Willoughby health update

Rochelle Humes returned to This Morning for the first time in months on Monday, as Phillip Schofield gave viewers an update about absent colleague Holly Willoughby.

As Phillip got set to come back to the ITV daytime show after a three week hiatus, Phillip was fully expecting to be reunited with his main presenting partner in crime Holly, however, it became apparent over the weekend that that definitely wouldn't be the case., with Holly taking to Instagram to announce she'd been struck down by shingles.

Addressing fans, Holly said: "Taking to Instagram, she told her followers: "Hi, just to let you know, I may be away for the rest of the week as I have Shingles. I'll be back as soon as I'm better. Huge love."

This Morning viewers were quick to offer their support to Holly, as it was reported that Holly would be replaced by former Saturdays star and The Hit List host Rochelle, who hadn't hosted the show so far in 2023.

Rumours of Rochelle's unexpected return to This Morning proved to be spot on as, at the end of her ITV show, Lorraine Kelly crossed to the This Morning studio to be greeted by Phillip and Rochelle and then, minutes later, as cameras rolled on This Morning, Phillip was quick to offer an update to viewers on how Holly was doing.

Right at the start of the live broadcast, Phillip said: "Holly isn't well today, so sadly is off today and perhaps a few more days with a bout of shingles...ouch!

"So if you are watching at home Holly, get well soon, the whole team sends you their love," before he turned to Rochelle and adding: "Thank you Rochelle for coming to play."

Viewers were quick to react to Rochelle being host, with one delighted fan taking to Twitter to write: "Yay rochelle is on #thismorning this women needs her own TV show."
