Rochelle Humes hits out at man who told her to 'shut up' her teething baby on flight

This Morning presenter Rochelle Humes has spoken out about a difficult flight experience where a passenger told her to "shut up" her crying baby. She returned to present the programme with Vernon Kay on Wednesday.

She spoke of her own experience of taking a flight with her son Blake as part of a discussion on whether airlines should offer adult-only services. Rochelle is married to Marvin Humes, who was in boy band JLS and is now a TV and radio presenter.

They have three children, Blake, who is one year old, Raine, five, and Alaia-Mai, aged nine, reports BirminghamLive.

Rochelle said she had been spoken to rudely on a flight before as Blake wouldn't stop crying. She said a man had asked her: "Aren't you going to shut him up?"

She appeared to get emotional as she added: "He was teething. I didn't know how to settle him myself."

Guest Gyles Brandreth said he thought that people should just take ear plugs onto planes to combat the noises of babies crying. Others on the panel said adults behaved worse on flights, citing examples of them putting their feet on other people's chairs and downing alcohol before their flight.

The debate on adult-only flights comes after a video of a woman complaining of a child screaming for the entirety of her plane journey went viral. Morgan Lee posted a video to Tiktok with the caption, “The flight was three hours and I listened to this the entire time.”

The text over the video reads: “Why isn’t there such a thing as adult only flights? I would pay so much money.” The 24-year-old from Florida added that her noise-cancelling headphones didn’t even begin to scratch the surface of the problem.
