Robson Green was left stunned by a "five-star" discovery he made in Northumberland as part of his new BBC series that he had previously never known about.
The 58-year-old star has toured the North East for BBC2 series Robson Green's Weekend Escapes, inviting fellow famous faces from Tyneside along as he explores some of the region's most beautiful spots. The first episode on Monday saw him visit Bamburgh, which Robson admitted holds a special place in his heart as his family's favourite holiday destination growing up.
The actor grew nostalgic as he reminisced about his childhood memories of the area - but it turned out he hadn't quite seen it all in Bamburgh. After having a wander along the beach and cycling down to Seahouses, Robson headed to Bamburgh Under Canvas, a glamping site where guests have the chance to stay in luxury tents in the heart of the sprawling countryside.

Found just under a mile away from the main village in the hamlet of Glororum, Bamburgh Under Canvas promises to be "the perfect location for your glamping getaway". Robson spoke to founder of the site Campbell Rodgerson before spending the night in one of the tents - and admitted he was surprised that the hidden gem attraction was there.
"I've been coming here since I was this high every weekend to Bamburgh - how long has this place been here?" Robson asked. "I've never come across it."
Campbell explained: "We did a little pop-up last year [2021] for six weeks and it was a success. Then we did some planning and opened on June 1, so we're fairly new."
Robson was then shown inside one of the tents, and was left seriously impressed by his accommodation that included a double bed, table and chairs, wood burning stove and refreshments in a cooler. The star also took in the stunning 360-degree views of Northumberland surrounding the campsite.
"I've stayed in some serious hotels in Northumberland, but this is five-star for me. I mean, what hotel's going to actually give you that?" he asked, gesturing to the picturesque view of the rolling countryside.
Campbell said that the campsite had proven hugely popular since it opened. "We get a lot people even just from Newcastle, living the city life - we're far enough away from them to be completely different, but close enough and accessible for them to come up and down for a couple nights' stay."
