Roborock Dyad Pro Combo: Price & availability
The Roborock Dyad Pro Combo retails for around $659.00/ £575 with resellers such as Amazon and Lowe's, and will soon be available to buy direct from the Roborock store.
While it might seem like a large outlay at first, the reality is you're getting a wet/dry vacuum and a handheld cordless vacuum in one. That, combined with the accessories such as the multi-surface brush, motorized mini brush, 2-in-1 cleaning tool, and wand/baton, makes the price much more reasonable.
It also offers a self-cleaning and self-drying function, which is normally only found on premium appliances. Overall, it's pretty decently priced for what you get.

Roborock Dyad Pro Combo: First impressions
The Roborock Dyad Pro Combo comes very securely packaged and protected, with thick cardboard protecting each component. Unfortunately, there's quite a bit of plastic packaging, too, which may or may not be recyclable, depending on where you live.
Inside the box is the upright wet/dry vacuum and its handle, which you pop in the top of the unit; the motor unit, which powers the upright, and the handheld vacuum and dust bin. A multi-surface brush, motorized mini brush, 2-in-1 cleaning tool, wand/baton for increasing reach and the charging dock and stand complete the set. You'll also find a quick start guide and a regular multi-lingual manual. An extra filter and a maintenance brush for cleaning out the dirty water tank and filter are also provided.
Setting up is pretty straightforward, as the roller brushes for mopping are already installed in the underside of the upright unit, as are the clean and dirty water tanks and filters. The quick start guide is clear and easy to follow and covers setting up the wet/dry cleaner, the cordless stick vacuum cleaner, and putting together the storage stand that doubles up as a charging dock.
The quick start guide also features a QR code to download the app, which is essential if you want to use all the features your Roborock offers. It's super easy to connect to the WiFi, too by pressing just two buttons on the main unit to pair. Just be sure to have your password ready.
However, our unit came with just 2% charge so we had to charge it for at least a couple of hours before using it. A full battery charge takes around 4 hours and lasts for up to an hour of continuous use (less if you utilize MAX mode).

Roborock Dyad Pro Combo: Design
This is a stylish wet/dry vacuum that offers function and looks. It might not suit everyone's taste, but I love the Jeffersons in space style of the upright unit. White appliances seem to be making a comeback, and the Roborock doesn't disappoint with a retro-future 1960s vibe.
The upright vacuum/mop and its motor unit are both encased in matte white plastic, while the dustbin and water tanks feature transparent, smoked gray plastic. The overall effect is pleasing. However, the wand and storage stand feel a bit flimsy and cheap, which detracts from the design.
The black plastic floor tool and other attachments feel sturdy enough, yet there's something off about how everything connects on the Roborock Dyad Pro Combo. It sometimes takes several tries to secure the dustbin to the motor unit, for example. It's a little thing, but if you're used to intuitive design that feels effortless, it stands out. It's a similar story for attaching the floor attachments to the wand — you don't always feel they are securely clicked on. A little more design effort when it comes to using the wet/dry vacuum would go a long way to improving how it feels in the hand.
Which brings me to my next design point. When using the cordless stick vacuum, one needs to hold it like a handbag, with the handle facing upwards, instead of holding it like a drill or a gun. This feels really odd, and it isn't very comfortable over long periods, either. I found my hand got cramped and sore just vacuuming the stairs.
There are three buttons on the Roborock while everything else is controlled via the app. Two of these buttons are on the motor unit handle itself: the power button and the change mode button, so you can switch from Auto to Max mode. The third button to start self-cleaning is on the upright unit's handle.
The motor unit also has a full-diameter LED display that shows battery life, dirt level detected, what mode you're in, and whether the clean tank needs refilling or the dirty tank needs emptying. A voice alert will also tell you that but it may be hard to hear over the sound of the vacuum — you can set the volume to be higher in the app. The LED display also shows error codes, WiFi connection status, and whether it's in self-cleaning or drying mode.
The filter sits at the top of the dirty water tank and there's a further filter inside the tank, presumably to separate water from more solid mixtures.
At the machine's base is the detergent cartridge, which pumps detergent into the Dyad Pro Combo’s water pipe with the clean water used to mop your floors. It adjusts how much in response to how clean (or dirty) your floors are.
It will also self-adjust in response to how stained your floors are. It's transparent, too, so you can monitor detergent levels.
With a footprint of 15 inches x 22 inches, you'll need to ensure you have enough space for the Roborock Dyad Pro Combo 5-in-1. It could be too large for small apartments or homes, and it's not a simple matter of storing it away when it's not in use, as it needs to self-clean, dry and charge up.
For me, the design is kinda 50/50. While I really appreciate the effort that's gone into making the Roborock Dyad Pro Combo look good, it could benefit from more user testing to ensure that everything comes together intuitively and works well.

Roborock Dyad Pro Combo: Performance
With a cat and dog in the house and all the rainy weather we've been having recently, I was looking forward to trying out the Roborock Dyad Pro Combo at home. The kitchen and hallway are regularly muddy with footprints and I haven't got the time or will to mop daily. A vacuum that can mop as well as vacuum sounds ideal to me. I evaluated the Roborock Dyad Pro Combo over a couple of weeks, testing all the different modes it offers and tying out the cleaning tools around the home
During testing, I also checked how well it tackled different types of liquid and debris, using sauces, milk, spilt cereal, oats and flour on various surfaces and as a general vacuum.
To be honest — the Roborock Dyad Pro Combo knocked it out of the park when it came to testing. I started by challenging it to suck up spilt cereal, honey and brown sauce on a laminate floor. I was amazed to see it sucked everything right up, with not a speck of sauce or liquid left. I quickly checked underneath, fully convinced I'd see cornflakes and sticky mess smeared across the rollers, but they were clean, and all the evidence was in the dirty water tank!
Next, I tested dry debris, including flour and oats. Again, it cleared the mess in just a pass or two. No pushing the oats around the floor, no smearing the flour into the wood grain. I was impressed.
The mopping and vacuuming functions work brilliantly together to leave a sparklingly clean floor, and the detergent cartridge gives you reassurance that your floor is also hygienically clean.
Onto carpets next, I switched from the upright cleaner to the stick vac. Having checked whether flour and oats could be pulled up from the dense carpet fibers (check and check), I did a full vacuum of the living room. I usually have to vacuum this room every day because of the pet hair that tends to accumulate here. It doubles up as our dining room, so there are often crumbs, too.
Again, I was taken aback by how powerful the vacuum was. I really didn't expect it to perform as well as my Dyson, but the results speak for themselves. The dustbin soon filled with pet hair and other debris, so I can confirm that the pick-up on this fairly small and light stick vac is pretty amazing.
The mopping function is effective too. The multi-rollers work in opposite directions to each other to pick up liquid and dry spills. Two front rollers operate edge-to-edge cleaning, leaving behind just 1mm of floor edging that isn't sparkling.
The extra attachments that come with the Roborock do a fine job, too. There's a crevice/brush tool which is handy for baseboards, dusting and getting into tight corners. There's also an upholstery/stair tool that does well at picking up pet hair on the sofa and the stairs.
The battery life of one hour is more than sufficient for cleaning a whole house, but watch out if you use Max mode. This depletes the battery much quicker, giving you around half the time instead.
Also worth noting is that I found some leakage from the dirty water tank from the top and detergent tended to leak out a little underneath the cartridge.

Roborock Dyad Pro Combo: Care and maintenance
It's important to regularly empty the dirty water tank, as things can get messy and gross quickly. The oats I vacuumed up with the spilt cereal ended up leaving a sludgy mess in the dirty water tank, and it was difficult to siphon off the water so I could dispose of the oats in the garbage.
Having said that, once you get rid of the dirty water, it's a breeze to clean. The dustbin is also easy to empty out, but you may have to get your hand in there to pull out every last bit of debris, as there's no sliding function to push it out, as with some other stick vacuum dustbins.
Of course, the Roborock cleans its own rollers, so that's one less job for you. Simply place the vacuum back on the charging deck and press the button for self-cleaning. Alternatively, you can use the app to set your own custom cleaning schedule — more on that later. Self-cleaning can be fairly noisy, hitting decibels in the high 60s, but it only lasts a few minutes.
You can also remove the rollers for a deeper clean — Roborock recommends doing this every two to four weeks for optimum hygiene. The filters in the dirty water tank and dustbin need to be cleaned every month, and Roborock recommends replacing the rollers and filters with new ones every 6-12 months. You can pick these up quite easily on Amazon; two new filters cost around $30, and new rollers cost just over $30.
Although you can use your own detergent in the cartridge, Roborock does make its own, available for around $19 on Amazon.
Roborock Dyad Pro Combo: App functionality
The app is an essential tool if you want to enjoy all of the funtionality available with the Roborock Dyad Pro. Here you can:
- Adjust the cleaning settings, including suction force, water level, roller speed and detergent leval.
- Change the self-cleaning and self-drying settings, including the option of a deep clean and extra time drying the rollers.
- Automatically start self-cleaning every time the vacuum is docked.
- Schedule self-cleaning and drying to a specific day and time.
- Set a do not disturb mode while charging.
- Change your voice alert language and volume.
- Get information on when to change your filter and rollers.

How does the Roborock Dyad Pro Combo compare?
If you'd prefer an upright wet/dry vacuum cleaner without the extra stick vac, the Ultenic AC1 Cordless Wet Dry Vacuum promises to vacuum and mop your hard floors or sealed wooden floors simultaneously, taking care of two chores in half the time. While it won't vacuum carpets, it was impressive at picking up dirt and debris on hard floors in our testing, and despite being cordless it has a more than adequate runtime of 45 minutes per charge.
If you'd rather have a totally hands-free experience, the Eufy X10 Pro Omni will do everything for you, including vacuuming, mopping and self-emptying. But you'd better have a much bigger budget as it retails for hundreds of dollars more!
If you just want a compact and affordable option, the Black+Decker Dustbuster QuickClean Cordless Wet/Dry Handheld Vacuum could be ideal. It's fantastic at powering through dry and wet messes in the home and car. Plus it's small enough to store away when not in use. However, the 10-minute battery runtime could disappoint some users.
How I tested the Roborock Dyad Pro Combo
I evaluated the Roborock Dyad Pro Combo over two weeks, using it around my home for vacuuming and floor washing. I tested how well it coped with sludgy messes and sauces, thin liquids and dry debris, such as oats and flour, and used a decibel meter to record volume output.
