Former Liverpool forward Roberto Firmino has signed a three-year deal with Saudi Pro League side Al Ahli.
The 31-year-old became a free agent at the end of June following the expiration of his contract at Anfield, with the forward deciding against renewing his terms on Merseyside in search of a new challenge.
Firmino follows in the footsteps of Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema, N'Golo Kante and Steven Gerrard, who have all been part of the Saudi Pro League boom since the turn of the year. He will also team up with former Chelsea goalkeeper Edouard Mendy at Al Ahli.
The Brazilian made the move to Anfield from German side Hoffenheim in the summer of 2015, with former manager Brendan Rodgers and at the time CEO Ian Ayre being made to move quickly in order to fend off interest from other sides in Europe.

However, it was only following the arrival of Jurgen Klopp in October 2015 that Firmino well and truly found his feet on Merseyside and later established himself as the heart of one of Europe's most devastating trios alongside Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah.
In total, he made 362 appearances for the Reds and scored 111 goals as Liverpool won the Champions League, Super Cup, Club World Cup, Premier League, League Cup, FA Cup and Community Shield.
Speaking to the ECHO prior to his final Anfield appearance back in May, Firmino said: "We are leaving a great legacy. I'm very grateful to God for all that. I am so proud what we achieved here together. For everything that the club did for me and for my family, I’m so happy for everything."
