Roberto Firmino 'preference' as Liverpool transfer talks continue

Roberto Firmino is reportedly attracting interest from clubs in Saudi Arabia as speculation grows around his Liverpool future.

According to a report by the Daily Mail, Firmino is attracting interest from a handful of clubs in Saudi Arabia, who are eager to boost their football profile ahead of a 2030 World Cup bid. Al Nassr unveiled their Cristiano Ronaldo earlier this week.

However, the report also claims that despite the interest from Saudi Arabia, Firmino is still leaning towards signing a new deal at Liverpool. The Brazilian's contract at Anfield is set to expire at the end of the season.

Speaking last week, Reds boss Jurgen Klopp insisted that he wants Firmino to remain at Liverpool despite the signing of Cody Gakpo. The forward joined the Reds earlier this month from PSV Eindhoven.

“No. Not for me. We are in talks with Bobby. He knows my points, I definitely want him to stay,” Klopp said ahead of his side’s game against Leicester City,

“We have to ask Bobby about that (if Gakpo’s arrival may impact Firmino’s decision). But from my point of view, no.”
