Roberto Firmino is reportedly close to signing a new contract with Liverpool.
The Reds striker’s current deal is due to expire at the end of the season. Firmino has been at Anfield since he arrived from Hoffenheim in 2015.
Since then, the Brazilian has scored 107 goals in 348 appearances and won six major trophies along the way. As things stand, though, he is set to leave Liverpool as a free agent in the summer.

According to Sky Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg, Firmino is close to signing a new deal with Liverpool. It has been claimed that a decision will be made soon over the 31-year-old’s future.
The report adds that Firmino is expected to sign a short-term extension with the Reds. It’s claimed that the extension will run until the summer of 2025, representing an extra two years.
On Wednesday, Firmino’s agent spoke about his client’s future at Liverpool. Roger Wittman has detailed the current position of his client with a final call likely in the coming weeks.
“It’s a very long relationship between Roberto and Liverpool,” Wittmann told Sky Germany. “Roberto feels good. At the moment, we’re in a great exchange and in February we’ll probably know where the journey is going.
“But Roberto also has to have a say in order to reach an agreement with Liverpool. We’re on the right track (and) we’re having really good talks with Liverpool. They’re a superbly positioned club.”
