Roberto Firmino injury update as trio missing from Liverpool training ahead of Leicester

Roberto Firmino has still yet to resume full training for Liverpool as his Anfield farewell edges ever nearer.

Firmino hasn't featured since a brief substitute appearance in the 6-1 win at Leeds United on April 17 having suffered a second muscle problem of the season.

While the Reds had expected the striker to be absent for three games with the issue, he has now been missing for the last five games and wasn't part of the session that took place at the AXA Training Centre in Kirkby on Wednesday afternoon.

Firmino has instead continued to work on an individual fitness programme as the Reds, who returned from a short break in Barcelona earlier in the week, begin their preparations for Monday's Premier League trip to struggling Leicester City.

The Brazilian will leave Liverpool on a free transfer at the end of the season after eight years at the club, with the Reds confident the player will be available for his Anfield farewell against Aston Villa on Saturday week.

Naby Keita, who hasn't played since February, was also absent from the training session once again, while centre-backs Nat Phillips and Rhys Williams were similarly not spotted.

However, Ibrahima Konate and Diogo Jota, who have both been carrying knocks in recent weeks, were both able to take part.
