Roberto De Zerbi to Chelsea latest as Brighton boss makes decision on Graham Potter succession

Chelsea are on the hunt for a manager once again after the club announced the departure of Graham Potter on Sunday evening. The 47-year-old spent seven-months in charge at Stamford Bridge after joining from Brighton on a fee worth roughly £21.5million earlier in the season.

Poor results seem to be a huge factor in the change at the helm, with Potter taking the side to the bottom half heading into the final run-in. With the decision to move on from the former Brighton boss, Bruno Saltor has been left in charge on an interim basis ahead of a clash against Liverpool on Tuesday night.

"It's really important to focus just day by day, how much we can effect everyday, what we can control," The Spaniard said ahead of the game. "What we can control is how we train today, how we play tomorrow and after we see how it goes."

While Bruno takes charge of Chelsea on the pitch, behind the scenes the hierarchy are beginning their work on landing a brand new manager. Plenty of options have been linked, from Julian Nagelsmann to Mauricio Pochettino, as the process begins to find the ideal candidate.

One other name that has cropped up is Brighton's Roberto De Zerbi, who has impressed with the Seagulls since taking over from Potter himself. However, according to the Evening Standard, the Italian is set to reject any approach to follow his predecessor to Stamford Bridge.

De Zerbi is said to be keen on staying at the Amex Stadium for the foreseeable future, with Brighton putting up a fight for the European places.
