The fashion world lost a bright light in the industry when news broke that legendary designer Roberto Cavalli had passed away at age 83. He started his eponymous label way back in the 70s building his brand on sexy dresses and animal prints. Cut to the 90s when he was the first to add Lycra to his jeans for built-in stretch. The man truly revolutionized the fashion world, which is why so many celebrities became (and remain) fans of his timeless designs.

That especially rings true for musicians. Cavalli's bold dresses were made for red carpets, after all. Several famous artists also opted to rock his creations on tour, extending his impact from fashion fanatics to music lovers of all ages. We're talking Lady Gaga (she sported a custom Cavalli design for her 2014 Cheek to Cheek Tour with Tony Bennett), Madonna (for her 2008 Sticky and Sweet Tour, Madonna was decked out in a pair of Cavalli parachute trousers) and Katy Perry.

We continue to mourn his passing while celebrating his legacy. Here are some of our favorite music moments the Italian designer helped bring to life.

Beyoncé absolutely stunned at the 2004 BRIT Awards in a slinky, gold Cavalli number. She's remained a supporter of the fashion house, even after Cavalli departed his label in 2015. Beyoncé's Cavalli Fall 2016 marigold dress from her Lemonade visual album became an iconic piece of fashion history. More recently, she worked a cowboy Cavalli costume into her set in Atlanta for her Renaissance World Tour.

Although she was no longer a Spice Girl by 2005, Victoria Beckham will always be a designer/singer. She flaunted a blue and green draped gown to the Swarovski Fashion Rocks for The Prince's Trust event accompanied by Cavalli himself.
